She made her screen debut with Hindi Film Makdee as Chunni, which won her the National Film Award and the Star Screen Award. Shweta Basu Prasad made her television debut with Hindi Serial Kutumb. She is best known for her work in Hindi Films Makdee, Iqbal and Telugu Film Kotha Bangaru Lokam. |

| At the age of 11, Shweta Basu Prasad made her acting debut in Star Plus's "Kutumb" series in 2002. In the same year, she made her film debut with "Makdee". In 2005, Shweta collaborated with Shreyas Talpade and Naseeruddin Shah in "Iqbal".
