| Neetu Singh debuted as a child actress with the movie Suraj in 1966, with Rajendra Kumar and Vyjanthimala as the pair of heads. She was spotted by actress Vyjanthimala in her dance school, who suggested to T. Prakash Rao that Neetu be mistaken for the small uncredited role in the movie Suraj. She has performed as a child artist in such films as Dus Lakh, Waris, Pavitra Paapi and Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani. She took over the role originally played by Kutty Padmini in Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum, in her Hindi remake Do Kaliyaan. Two years after the success of the movie Rickshawkaran, in 1973, Mr. Veerappan Sathiya Films decided to remake his Tamil film in Hindi under the name of Rickshawala. The original Tamil film was a major commercial success and won Mr. G. Ramachandran the National Film Award for Best Actor. The remake was made by MGR's friend, K.Shankar, with actor Randhir Kapoor and actress Neetu Singh. |
