| Krishna Kumar Dinesh Karthik is an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman who made his debut for the Indian Cricket team in 2004 and has been a regular member of the team for different periods since then, including a 2007 stint as a specialist drummer and non-wicket-keeper. Karthik was a drummer in his junior career, but turned to babysitting to improve his future prospects. Rising in the junior ranks, Karthik made his first-class debut at the end of 2002 for Tamil Nadu at age 17, and was eliminated in his first season despite his good score due to his problematic glove. |

| Dinesh Karthik scored at will at the national level, but the Indian team did not have room for a wicketkeeper-drummer because the team already had the big fish of MS Dhoni. So even though he scored a lot, he did not have a lot of chances, but on those he had, he was unable to capitalize on them. Dinesh's story has been in-and-out with the Indian cricket team never helping his cause. He made his debut in India when he was selected to the Indian team after Parthiv Patel was injured during the 2004 tour of England. He did only 1 race but still impressed everyone with great gloves behind the stumps. |
