| Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her grandmother, an opera singer, was an early influence, but Swift soon discovered the music of Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and LeAnn Rimes. When she was eleven, she took her home demonstration bands to Nashville and continued to come and go to Music City for the next three years. At fourteen, Swift and his family moved permanently to suburban Nashville, Hendersonville, Tennessee. During a performance at the famous Bluebird Café, she was spotted by Scott Borchetta, who signed it on his new label, Big Machine Records. |

His father was a stockbroker, while his mother was a housewife who raised Taylor and his younger brother, Austin. She attended the Alvernia Montessori School. Taylor and Austin used to attend Bible classes because their parents were practitioners of the Presbyterian Church. When she was only nine months old, her mother put her on a saddle, and from then on riding became her leisure. She had her own pony named Ginger. After moving to Wyomissing, she joined Youth Theater Academy productions and traveled extensively to New York for singing and acting classes. |
