| Talat Aziz was born on November 11, 1956 in Hyderabad. His mother, Sajida Abid, was an Urdu poet and writer. Ghazal big Jagjit Singh was a friend of the family, and his regular visits inspired Aziz to train under the Kirana Gharana as a singer. In 1979, at the age of 23, Aziz was released with the album Jagjit Singh Presents Talat Aziz. In the ghazal "Kaise Sukoon Paaon", written by Saeed Shaheedi, Aziz displays a command on the highest notes but lacks the same fluidity when he has to pitch. |

| Talat started singing from an early age. Talat underwent initial music training in Kirana Gharana. As a childhood, his inspiration was singer Ghazal Mehdi Hassan. Later, Talat Aziz shared the same stage with the maestro during concerts in India and abroad. Talat also received some music lessons from Mehdi Hassan. Talat's first big performance was in Hyderabad, where he performed the song 'Kaise Sukoon Paoon' and the ghazals by the shaayars of Hyderabad. He played in front of 5,000 people, where his soft voice was appreciated by the audience. After graduating, Talat left Hyderabad for Mumbai. This is the suggestion of Jagjit Singh who moved Talat to Mumbai in 1979. He followed classical training under the direction of the musical biggies Ustad Samaad Khan and Faiyaz Ahmed Khan. Talat released his first album titled 'Jagjit Singh presents Talat Aziz' with the help of Jagjit Singh. The album was a success. Talat then released his albums, which also enjoyed the same success. His albums include Lehren, Irshaad, Manzil, Dhadkan, Saughaat, Ehsaas, Suroor and Talat Aziz live. |
