| Mala Sinha was born on 11-11-1936 in Calcutta in the state of West Bengal, India. She is an Indian film actress who is known for her work in Hindi, Bengali and Nepali cinema. Mala Sinha was born as Alda Sinha but since her school friends began to tease her by saying Dalda, she changed her name to Baby Nazma. She began her career as a child artist in a Bengali film called Jai Vaishno Devi. After that, she worked as a children's artist in many other films like Jog Biyog and Dhooli and Shri Krishan Leela among others. |

| Sinha began her full-fledged acting career with the movie Bengali Roshanaara in the year 1952 and used the credit name as Mala Sinha. She made her Hindi cinema debut with the movie Badshah in 1954. Her career did not start as she wanted because most of her early films were a flop. She became famous after her performance in Ramesh Saigai's hit movie, Phir Subah Hogi. She was well known for her on-screen pairing with Pradeep Kumar and together they worked in blockbusters such as Fashion, Duniya Na Mane, and Detective, among others. Her career exploded after the release of the movie Pyaasa in 1957. She worked with veteran actor Guru Dutt in this film. |
