Shah Rukh Khan Biography & Biodata

Khan was born on November 2, 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, was chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, a ethnic Pathan was originally from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also stated in his interviews that he was a Pathan from Peshawar, Pakistan, and that his entire family spoke Hindko at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan).

In 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in the Shah Wali Qataal area, in the Qissa Khawani bazaar in Peshawar. Meer was a disciple of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 after the partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a senior government engineer. His parents married in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "half Hyderabadi (mother), half Pathan (father), and some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the family is of Hindu Kashmir origin, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.

Shah Rukh Khan Political Career

Khan's first role was in the television series of Lekh Tandon, Dil Dariya, which began shooting in 1988, but production delays made the 1989 Fauji series a first televised film. played the lead role of Abhimanyu Rai. This led to other appearances in the television series Aziz Mirza Circus (1989-90) and the miniseries Mani Kaul Idiot (1991). Khan also played minor roles in soap operas Umeed (1989) and Wagle Ki Duniya (1988-90), as well as in the English television movie In Which Annie Gives It Ones (1989). His appearances in these soap operas led critics to compare his look and acting style to those of actor Dilip Kumar, but Khan was not interested in cinema at the time, thinking he was not not good enough.
