| Kailash Kher was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on July 7, 1973. His father Mehar Singh and his mother Chandrakanta Devi were from Meerut. Kher's father, Mr. Mehar Singh Kher, was an amateur musician whose performances of traditional folk songs were a regular household event. He started learning Indian music since he was 12 years old. He always sang with Kailash about the Indian folk songs that inspired Kailash. |

| Kailash Kher is a famous Sufi Indian singer and he has a typical Bollywood story. Some time he was fighting for a residency in Mumbai and lived at Andheri station and now he is a sensational singer from India. Kailash formed his group called "Kailasa". At the age of 14, Kher left the house looking for a guru or institution to pursue his musical training and embarked on studies of classical and folk music. He moved to Mumbai in 2001, where he began his foray into the music industry. He did not have good shoes to wear and he used to walk in the rains of Mumbai with cheap shoes and sounds "Chap Chap" because of the absorption of water. Kailash had to fight for a chance at Bollywood. |
