| Zachary David Alexander "Zac" Efron was born on October 18, 1987 and is an American actor, singer and dancer. He began acting professionally in the early 2000s, and became known to young audiences after his roles in the Disney Channel High School Musical film, the WB Summerland series, and the 2007 film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray. In 2007, before the release of High School Musical 2, Rolling Stone declared him "the poster boy for tweenyboppers" and presented it in their August 2007 issue. Efron has since played in the 17 Again movies, Me and Orson Welles, and Charlie St. Cloud, and should play in the New Year and The Lucky One. The description |

| Efron started playing in the early 2000s with guest roles on several TV series, including Firefly, ER and The Guardian. In 2004, he began appearing as a recurring character in the first season of the WB Summerland series. For the second season of the show, which aired in 2005, he was promoted to the main cast. He has also appeared in some films, including Lifetime's TV movie Miracle Run, for which he received a Young Artist Award nomination for his performance as one of two autistic twins. |
