| Ranbir Kapoor (pronounced [rəɳbiːr kəpuːr], born September 28, 1982) is an Indian actor and producer. The son of actors Rishi and Neetu, and the grandson of actor-director Raj, Kapoor pursued the cinema and acting method at the School of Visual Arts and at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, respectively. He then helped Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the movie Black (2005), and made his acting debut with the tragic novel by Bhansali Saawariya (2007), a box office flop. Kapoor gained prominence with his performances in the movie Wake Up Sid (2009), the romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009) and the comedy drama Rocket Singh: seller of the year (2009). |

Her older sister, Riddhima (born 1980), is an interior designer and fashion designer. The actresses Karisma and Kareena are his first cousins. Kapoor was educated at Mahim's Bombay Scottish School. As a student, he found little interest in studying and would rank among his peers. |
