| Nargis Fakhri was born in October 20, 1979 is an American model and actress who appears mainly in Hindi films. Fakhri began her career as a model and appeared as a competitor in the Next Top Model series of the American CW series. She made her acting debut in the 2011 Rockstar Romantic Drama, for which she received a Filmfare Award for Best Female Nomination. She has received praise for playing the role of war correspondent in the political thriller Madras Cafe. She later appeared in hit comedies Main Tera Hero, Spy and Housefull 3, the second of which was a Hollywood production. |

| Fakhri made her film debut with a leading female role in Imtiaz Ali's musical rock drama, Rockstar, in 2011. The film follows the path of a budding musician from a humble past to international celebrity after death of his passionate lover. Farkri is the first film in India to present a Kashmiri Pandit wedding. The film receives overwhelming reactions from critics, but their opinions about it are mixed. Review of the film Taran Adarsh wrote: "Nargis is an astonishing in regards to looks, but is not persuasive in poignant moments", however, he praised his on-screen chemistry with his co-star Ranbir Kapoor. With gross sales of $ 1.07 billion ($ 17 million), Rockstar was one of the most profitable Indian films of the year. His next release was opposed to John Abraham in Shoojit Sircar's political thriller, Madras Cafe. The film, which took place at the time of Indian intervention in Sri Lanka's civil war and the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, was critically acclaimed. The critic of the movie Saibal Chatterjee said that Fakhri "takes good notes". called him "pleasantly competent". Later that year, she made a special appearance in the action comedy Phata Poster Nikhla Hero to play in the article number "Dhating Naach" with lead actor Shahid Kapoor. |
