| Aditi Rao Hydari was born on October 28, 1986 in Hyderabad to Ehsaan Hydari and his wife Vidya Rao, a popular classical singer for Thumri. His father, who died in 2013, was a Bohri Muslim while his mother, a Hindu by birth, is a practicing Buddhist and a Saraswat from Mangalore half-Telugu. Aditi belongs to two royal lineages, that of Mohammed Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao of the ancient Raja of the Wanaparthy family. She is the great granddaughter of Akbar Hydari, former Prime Minister of Hyderabad, and the niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former governor of Assam. Aditi's maternal grandparents are Raja J Rameshwar Rao, who ran the Wanaparthi state administration during her day, and Shanta Rameshwar Rao, a highly respected educator in the city of Hyderabad, and the president of the house Orient Blackswan. Filmmaker Kiran Rao, the wife of actor Aamir Khan, is his first cousin. Although Hydari's parents had a romantic marriage, they separated when she was only 2 years old. Her mother moved from Hyderabad to Delhi and started running her family business there. While her father remarries, but has no children, his mother remains single. | Hydari made her acting debut with the 2007 Tamil film Sringaram, in which she played the main character, a devadasi. The film itself was based on classical dance, being directed by Sharada Ramanathan and produced by Padmini Ravi, a noted dancer bharatanatyam. Hydari was approached and offered the role after Ramanathan saw her dancing at a conference. The film has been critically acclaimed and has won several awards, including three national film awards. Her debut feature, however, was Malayalam's 2006 film, Prajapathi, in which she played alongside Mammootty. In 2009, she plays a supporting role in Delhi-6, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. In 2011, Hydari appeared in the movie Yeh Saali Zindagi, for which she won the Screen Award. In 2011, she also starred in the movie Bollywood Rockstar. She appeared in an Airtel 3G commercial in April 2011. In 2012, she played the female lead in the movie London, Paris, New York, opposite Ali Zafar. With this movie, she debuted by singing two of the songs. Hydari has received mixed reviews for its performance. The film was a commercial failure. In 2013, she became part of Mahesh Bhatt's Murder franchise, when she was cast as Roshni, opposite Randeep Hooda, in the Murder 3 movie, Vishesh Bhatt. Bollywood Hungama wrote: "Aditi and Sara are jigsaw, both offer knockout performances," and Roshni Devi of Koimoi said that "Aditi's performance is the backbone of the film." The film was on average bigger. Hydari then starred in Akshay Kumar in the action movie Boss, directed by Anthony D'Souza. She played the romantic interest of the main character played by Kumar. The film received mixed responses from critics but was a box office success. |
