| Tarun J Tejpal born was born in an army house on March 15, 1963. His father was in the Indian Army, and he grew up in many parts of India. He has a degree in economics from Punjab University in Chandigarh, Punjab and is a journalist, publisher and novelist. During a 26-year career, he was editor-in-chief of the India Today and Indian Express groups, as well as editor of Outlook, India's leading news magazine. In March 2000, he created Tehelka, a news agency that has earned a worldwide reputation for its aggressive public interest journalism. In 2001, Asiaweek ranked Tejpal among the 50 most powerful communicators in Asia, and BusinessWeek named it among the 50 leaders at the forefront of change in Asia. |

| TarunTejpal made the headlines lately after a female journalist filed a complaint against him for sexual harassment in 2013. After the prosecution, he resigned as editor of Tehelka. Tehelka editor-in-chief Shoma Choudhary also resigned as chief editor after an outburst of anger over her by the media and social media, demanding that she be ousted from office due to mismanagement sensitive file. Tejpal's father was in the army and as a result, he lived his childhood in various places in the country. He graduated from Punjab University in Chandigarh. He began his professional career as a journalist. He worked in one of India's leading English newspapers, The Indian Express, in the 1980s. |
