| Rahat Indori was born in 1950 in Indore and did his basic studies from there. He completed his master's degree in Urdu literature from Bhopal and obtained his Ph.D. from Bhuj University in Madhya Pradesh. His childhood was difficult because the family was going through a financial crisis, so he began working as a sign painter at the tender age of ten.Rahat took a teaching job in Urdu literature at IK College, Indore and got absorbed in the mushairas and began receiving invitations from all over India and abroad. |

| Rahat Indori began teaching Urdu literature at IK College, Indore. According to his students, he was the best lecturer at the college. In the meantime, he became very busy with Mushairas and started receiving invitations from all over India and abroad. He has become very popular among the masses as well as classes with his ability, hard work and a characteristic style of delivering Ashaar. He found a place in people's hearts very early and, in the space of three or four years, the scent of his poetry made him a well-known figure in the world of Urdu literature. He recited his first sher in his college days when he was only 19 years old. In those days his writing style was surprising, advanced and had a coolness to him. |
