| Anu Malik, born Anwar Sardaar Malik, is an Indian musical director, singer, actor, director and producer who works mainly in the Hindi cinema industry. Anu Malik made his debut as a music composer in 1980. In the 1990s, he wrote music for Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, Baazigar and Jaanam. He trained in music and made his debut in Hindi films in 1980 with the movie Hunterwali 77. He judged five seasons of Indian Idol. |

| Anu has composed music for more than 350 films. He had to wait almost 16 years from his debut to taste the success of the 1993 blockbuster music "Baazigar".The song of Ghulam Ali in the movie "Awargee" of 1990, he revealed, was made by Anu Malik, but the song was recorded by the musical director of the film RDBurman. In 2010, he left Indian Idol because the singer Sunidhi was paid 7.5 lakhs per episodeas compared to his 5 lakhs per episode.He composed the music waiting for RDBurman after his death, in movies like Gang and Ghatak.Due to his shearing passion, he can compose a song in about 30 minutes.His daughter, Anmol sang the song 'Talli' from the movie Ugly Aur Pagli. |
