| Aditya Vikram Birla was born on 14-11-1943 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. He was an Indian industrialist, former president of Aditya Birla Group & Businessperson. Aditya Vikram Birla was educated in Kolkata and for a degree, enrolled at the famous St. Xavier's College in Kolkata. After that, he moved to the United States and earned his master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |

| He on his return to India joined his family business. However, he was not satisfied and therefore started his own company in the textile industry. He helped bring his family's textile and rayon business back on track. He then took up the challenge of exploring his activity in the oil sector and also succeeded. Instead of moving to the West, he decided to settle with the Eastern countries and created a company called Indo-Thai Synthetics Company Ltd. in 1969 in Thailand. It was the first foreign company in his group. After the success of this venture, he created several other companies in the South East and all were very successful. He made Birla Group a renowned Blue Chip company and also the largest business conglomerate in India. In the 1980s he created 19 companies in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. |
