Born in Bombay on October 14, 1972, Zoya Akhtar is from one of the country's most talented film families. After graduating from NYU, she helped filmmakers like Mira Nair, Tony Gerber and Dev Benegal, before becoming a full-fledged writer-director. She has directed films such as critically acclaimed Luck By Chance (2009), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) and Sheila Ki Jawani as part of Bombay Talkies (2013). She co-wrote Talaash (2012) alongside Reema Kagti. His signature style combines creativity, sensitivity and individuality to create a unique cinematic experience that resonates with all ages. She then directed Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), a film based on a dysfunctional Punjabi family.
