Shane Watson Career | ||
Watson, came to the side as a bowler mainly and a lower order beater more than helpful. He made his ODI debut against South Africa in 2002 and was a regular member until three stress fractures just before the 2003 World Cup forced him to sit down. His position was taken by Andrew Symonds, who did his with a series of impressive performances. The injuries forced Watson to focus more on his stick than bowling. He made a return to the international side of the ODI in 2004-05, still as bowler, who could beat. Shortly after, he entered the Testers camp as the fifth bowling player and lower middle ranked drummer. More injuries meant he was on and off the ODI for a while. The highlight came in the 2006 Champions Trophy when he was invited to open the innings with Adam Gilchrist. |
