| Parineeti Chopra was born on October 22, 1988 and is an Indian actress and singer who appears in Hindi films. Chopra first aspired to pursue a career in investment banking, but after earning a triple degree in Business, Finance and Economics at Manchester Business School, she returned to India during the 2009 economic downturn and joined Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant. Later, she signed an agreement with the company as an actress. Chopra made her acting debut with an acclaimed performance in the romantic comedy 2011 Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Beginner Woman and a Best Supporting Actress nomination. She followed him with critical acclaim for her leading roles in box office successes - Ishaqzaade, which earned her the National Film Award - Special Mention, Shuddh Desi Romance, and Hasee Toh Phasee. The first two of them also earned her two nominations for the Best Actress Filmfare Award. After a full three-year break from acting, she starred in the hit comedy Golmaal Again, one of the most lucrative Indian films of all time. |

| While working on the Baaja Baaraat Band promotions, Chopra realized that she wanted to become an actress and decided to resign from her executive position with Yash Raj Films to go to the theater school. Director Maneesh Sharma suggested signing Chopra to Aditya Chopra, president of Yash Raj Films. Appalled by the idea of recruiting someone from her marketing team as an actress, the vice president refused. When Parineeti Chopra told Sharma that she was leaving her job to go to the theater school, he advised her to meet the casting director. a "dummy audition for pleasure". Chopra remembers having "played with a camera" and delivered lines from Geet's character from the film Jab We Met, not expecting to see producer Aditya Chopra see the band. However, when the producer saw the band, he was impressed by his acting. With Sharma describing her "phenomenal" in screen test, Chopra was signed for a three-film deal, Chopra's colleagues later told her she was "unsuitable in an office situation". In 2011, Chopra debuted on screen in the romantic comedy Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl, in a supportive role with Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. The film describes how three girls deceived by a crook will revenge themselves on him by plotting the same trick for him. Chopra played the "rich and spoiled kid" based in Delhi Dimple Chadda, who is betrayed by the central character of the film. The film received mixed reviews from critics, and was moderately successful at the box office. Chotra's performance has been highly praised by movie critics. Komal Nahta said: "Among the other three girls, Parineeti Chopra is undoubtedly the best, she has the best role, the best lines and she is the best performance of the three." Priyanka Roy of the Telegraph described Chopra as "natural" and wrote "Among the ladies, the beginner Parineeti almost steals Anushka's show. |
