Reliance Jio's Rapid Web Access To Return Soon ,Company Vows To Construct More Versatile Towers

The telecommunications company Reliance Jio said Wednesday it would build more mobile towers to improve its services. For this, it has committed to invest more in network connectivity infrastructure.

"Reliance Jio meeting with the Minister of Telecommunications (Manoj Sinha) has committed to invest 45,000 crore mobile towers in the next 6 months to further strengthen its network. The company said it plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore over a period of 4 years and the new towers are part of this investment, "said an official source at the Press Trust of India.

Reliance Jio, thanks to its free offer to welcome trial has raised $ 2.4 million more subscribers within two months of its launch.

However, the unprecedented increase in the use has had a huge impact on network connectivity, slowing the Internet. This adds to the problems of Reliance Jio, already wound in the call drop issues due to the unavailability of required interconnection points.

Before the official launch, Reliance Jio had allocated Rs 1.6 lakh crore to the network and installed 2.82 lakh base stations across the country covering 18,000 towns and 2 lakh villages.

Last month, the Company renewed its spectrum expiring in the 800 MHz band in the circle of Gujarat and bought additional spectrum in the 800 MHz band, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz in all 22 service areas for Rs 13.672 crore. Now it seems it was not enough.

In a related development, the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications of India (TRAI) has recommended to impose a combined penalty of 3,050 crore in three mobile network operators - Vodafone, Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular - for refusing to interconnection points in Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Senior executives of the three companies held a meeting with the chairman of TRAI, RS Sharma, to discuss the issue of interconnection points, but Sharma refused to drop the penalty on the starting players and asked them to solve the issue of the call drop by agreement with Reliance Jio.
